Terms of Service
These terms set out the basis on which you may use the Paper Matters website. In short: our writing and photography are ours, the artworks we discuss belong to their makers, and the collecting guidance we publish is editorial, not professional advice.
Last updated: 10 June 2026
Paper Matters is an editorial project about handmade, editioned printmaking, operated by Luma Studios LLC, doing business as Paper Matters (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
Using the site
You are welcome to read, link to, and share our work for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to use the site in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation, or that attempts to gain unauthorised access to it or to its data.
Our content
The essays, guides, and original photographs published on Paper Matters are created by us and are protected by copyright. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link, and you may share links freely, but you may not republish, reproduce, or redistribute substantial portions of our writing or our photographs without our written permission.
Many of the artworks we discuss are shown using images that are in the public domain; where that is so, those works are free of copyright and we identify them as public-domain works. Photographs we take ourselves of works in our collection remain our copyright, even where the underlying artwork is old. Nothing here transfers any rights in the artworks themselves, which belong to their respective artists, estates, or rights holders.

Editorial guidance is not professional advice
Paper Matters publishes essays and guides about printmaking, collecting, and provenance. This material is editorial and educational. It is not professional, financial, legal, or appraisal advice; we do not authenticate prints, guarantee their value, or vouch for any seller, publisher, or marketplace.
